Welcome to Pitter Patter Chinchillas

Hello and welcome to Pitter Patter Chinchillas!

We are located in Spokane, Washington. We’ve had chinchillas in our lives since 1999, and in October 2007, we decided to take a break from breeding. The simplest explanation is that it became overwhelming, shipping chinchillas became increasingly difficult, traveling was becoming more frequent, and that made us unable to work successfully as the type of breeder we wanted to be. We’ve kept a small number of animals, none of which are in breeding, but are some of our favorites. In the next two years, we will most likely be breeding again, but for the time being we have to take a break. Most of our herd is placed within the State of Washington or Montana with friends who are breeders. And although I am taking a break from breeding, it doesn’t mean that I won’t answer questions, be active in my MCBA chapter (as much as I can without breeding), and am always willing to help! Chinchillas are still a part of my life…just currently a small part, instead of a full time job!
